Meet Saidi (the Seamstress??)

I was contacted by a conference organiser recently wanting a quotation on conference bags. Saidi and I got to sitting to sort out the costs of everything and it was at this meeting that the opportunity presented itself to get to know Saidi a little bit better.

Saidi

"Yeah, I have a degree in Finance from Malawi, you know" he told me. "But when I arrived in South Africa in 2004, I had to look around for a job and realised how job openings for foreigners were limited here." he conitnued. "...then this sewing thing came up and I've been doing it since".

For me, this is an interesting story of someone who didnt allow his background, gender or situation dictate to him, but rather chose to do something about his circumstances.

I took along my daughter to this meeting and this is her version of her busy mom

I learn from Saidi and hopefully he learns from me. The relationships is mutually beneficial on a personal level as well as on a business level.

We keep trucking.
